ORGANIC PRODUCT PRODUCERS AND INDUSTRIALISTS ASSOCIATION

ORGUDER, which was set up by seven founding members, representing Değirmen Ltd.,Tiryaki bulgur Ltd., Filiz Gıda San,Inc.,Doğan Organik Inc, Selim Uludağ Tarım İşl.,Inc., Sunder Ltd, and Ireks Gıda San.Inc. on 17 March 2004, has already risen  the number of its members to 32 with the participation of organic product companies such as  Özçay Kooperatifi, Pan Tarım Ltd., Çamlı Yem ve Besicilik,Inc. The union's aim is to develop the occupational solidarity and cooperation, to exchange information, to contact consumers in order to inform them about the usage of the organic products, to contribute to the development of the Organic Agriculture and Organic Product Industry in Turkey by combining all the organic product industry sector under one roof. Among its duties are to ensure the regular, safe and stable functioning and development of the organic products market, to attain the aim of highly competitive goods production in terms of quality, standard and cost, to create sufficient demand for the growing production, to develop export possibilities in the foreign markets, to represent Turkey in the international organic product organizations, to ensure nourishment safety in organic goods and to work in colloboration with the relevant public Institutes/Institutions in the preparation of regulations and guidelines. ORGUDER, which convened its first General Meeting on 27 August 2004 is gaining a stronger and more active structure with each passing day.

The Organic Agriculture which refers to a specific kind of production made without any synthetic medication and feed, is an alternative kind of production which is very important for the new generations which will have to cope with many kind of diseases, in particular, cancer, in order to live in this ecosystem which has been polluted in varied ways throughout the centurie- will take its rightful place in the domestic and foreign markets through the activities to be conducted by ORGUDER. ORGUDER is a member  of  TGDF (Federation of Food & Drink Industry Associations of Turkey) and IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements).

 FIELD OF ACTIVITIES

  • Studies for setting proper production and marketing policies in Organic Agriculture;
  • Studies to establish effective control and certification mechanisms in the production and marketing of organic products;

  • Establishing consultancy foundation for the production and marketing of organic products;
  • Studies for stopping fragmantation of plantations by cooperatives;
  • Studies for decreasing input cost and for better procurement of input items in organic production;
  • Studies for setting "regulations, strategies and policies" with collobaration of related ministries, especially Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, other institutions/foundations and non-governmental organiztions;
  • Studies for orginizing organic product producers;
  • Studies for achieve branding in organic products sector;
  • Increasing marketing possibilities and supporting every phase of organic production, especially the "transition period" in organic vegetable and organic livestock production;
  • Studies for establishment of certified laboratories;
  • Studies for training producers on organic production techniques in practical projects to be implemented;
  • Studies for informing and organizing producers;
  • Studies for proper function of control and supervision mechanism for imported&exported products and especially the products sold in home marker.;
  • Informing consumers by means of exhibitions, seminars, symposiums, TV programs and printed media;
  • Improving home market by decreasing production cost of organic products; 
  • Studies for increasing incentives and promotions for exportation of organic products;
  • Representing and introducing members in various domestic and international organizations such as exhibitions, seminars, symposiums, conferences and meetings.
